Playing Volleyball at the highest level presents an ongoing challenge, one that Cold Spring, KY volleyball player Madison Salkowski knows all too well. “My High School team, Notre Dame Academy, is ranked in the top 15 nationally. And my club team, NKYVC, competes at the highest level against teams from all around the country. The expectations are very high on both teams, and I need to be up to the challenge.”
It can be a grind. So for the last 3 years, Madison’s been training at WieFit to work on her arm strength, vertical jump, and most importantly, her core. “I’m learning more and more that a lot of what I need to do on the court to be successful starts with a solid core. All my lateral speed, and strength when hitting, starts there.”

Playing volleyball year ‘round can make it hard to find time to train. “I’m at WieFit mostly in-between seasons – a few months in winter, and then over the summer. I love my trainers and can’t wait to see them again.”

Madison is being recruited by several Division 1 schools and hopes to make her college decision soon. “Getting a scholarship to play volleyball in college isn’t something everyone gets, and I plan to make the most of the opportunity.”

Update as of 1/29/15: Madison has committed to Seton Hall University!
